This is an in-depth analysis of an almost unknown aspect of World War II - the Third Reich's underground industry. In order to protect the most vital branches of the economy from air raids, they were transferred underground. Hundreds of such factories, research centres and storage facilities underwent construction, of which almost 200 were completed. According to plans, almost entire underground cities were to be built.
